A Unique Amazon Rainforest Lodge – Antares Amazon Lodge and Tours

Antares Amazon Lodge is an amazon rainfores hotel located near the village of Pampa-Caño approximately 116 kms (72.08 miles) west of Iquitos. Access is by road, Iquitos to Nauta, 1.2 hours and then by boat, Nauta to Antares Amazon Lodge, 1-2 hours. The lodge is located inside the creek of Pampa-Caño that takes the name of the village. It is a very unique environment as it has direct access to sections of the jungle with extensive fauna and flora which cannot be found in facilities closer to the city.

We are further afield than most lodges which is essential if you want to see a lot of wildlife. Apart from the nature immersion that the jungle offers, we are located near a cocama village, a group of indigenous people.The bungalows are built on stilts to avoid flooding which takes place during the wet season, February-March.




This Amazon Jungle Lodge is sorrounded by a beautiful garden and primary forest. The lodge has private spacious rooms with private bathroom, showers, sinks, mirrors, hand towels, the bungalows also have fans, tables, chairs, 220 outlets, towel hangers, a closet and wifi available day and night , All the rooms are protected by fine mesh netting to prevent any unwanted winged intruders. There is a dining room with chairs, coffee table and a bar area. There is also a hammack house, a table with books and games. Electricity is available to our guests from a solar panel 24 hours. Bottled drinking water is also provided to all our guests. Upon arrival to the lodge, each guest will be greeted with a Pisco Sour which is considered to be a South American classic.

Each reservation will have their own personal bilingual naturalist guide with whom they can organize your Amazon Jungle Tours what they will do each day. All excursions are flexible depending on the needs of each guest.

Time of the excursions can also be changed depending on the weather. Your stay and adventures are up to you, we are flexible and diverse as the Amazon itself. Three well balanced meals are provided each day highlighting regional produce. fresh and balanced ingredients. We have an extensive rotation of staff from the surrounding communities that serve as local guides, gardeners, waiters, drivers and maid service.

Each group (a group of friends, a family, a couple or even a solo traveller) is allocated his own individual guide (English or Spanish speaking), boat and boatman. We don't regroup parties. Which means that your tour will be tailored to what you most like. First-timer or jungle expert, the team at the lodge will adapt to your needs and enjoy your Iquitos Amazon Tours. Tours can be adapted to different levels of involvement. All you need is the desire to discover genuine jungle life & be ready for the wildlife! In practice, the planning of your trip is defined when you meet your guide in Iquitos, prior to departing to the lodge, and you can still adjust it along the way... depending on what you'd like to explore further.

LOCATION

Antares lodge is located a bit further afield than some lodges, well away from the city, and this is essential if you want to see a lot of wildlife!

This jungle resort is surrounded by spectacular primary jungle that offers a wide panel of possibilities for nature enthusiasts. The trip to reach Antares, accompanied by your guide, is beautiful in itself, combining road and river travel.

PRIVATE BUNGALOWS AND GREAT FOOD

You will have understood that Antares lodge is not a luxury facility, nor a resort like lodge. It is more of a rustic type, and does not have all modern life typical amenities. Which is actually normal for a jungle lodge, but always good to be remembered! you will love the disconnection :)

That being said, we make sure that you have what we view as important to relax and feel comfortable: the bungalows have their own private bathroom and are maintained clean on a daily basis, bug free (mosquito nets all over), supplied with fresh bedsheets, towels, soap, etc.

Our food is local and simple yet carefully prepared, with fresh & balanced ingredients and generously served. Generally quite a nice surprise to our guests!!! Veggie meals and other special dietary requirements will of course be coordinated upon request.
